BEN AND RAE GADDUM

An Idylic Country Retreat

Ben Gaddum, Nicci’s cousin, was born to pioneering parents who broke-in back country farm land, transforming it from rough bush to beautiful rolling pastures. Ben was practically raised on the back of a horse until he went off to boarding school. Since then he has spent most of his life farming the land and relishing the lifestyle.

Ben and his wife, Rae, live three kilometres from Havelock North Village  in an historic 100 year-old Arapata homestead, and together they run two beautiful lodges Arapata and Ngamoe.  These two boutique lodges are set on the grounds of the Arapata Estate with its 12 hectares of elevated north facing rolling hills and rural views with a garden of large trees and expansive lawns.

Extra bedrooms in the Arapata homestead are available by special request and the delightful Birdwood Gallery and Café is a mere walk down the drive and over the road.

Special insider experiences in every journey.
